The www.abitarte.eu website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of procedures and improve the user experience of online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies (and similar technologies), how they are used by www.abitarte.eu and how to manage them.

DEFINITIONS

Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be re-used during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or afterwards, even days later (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies, such as, for example, web beacons, transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behaviour and the use of services. In the remainder of this document we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies by simply using the term ‘cookies’.

TYPES OF COOKIES

Depending on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:

Technical cookies. These cookies are essential for the site to function properly and are used to manage login and access to the site’s reserved functions.
Analysis and performance cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyse site traffic and usage anonymously. While these cookies do not identify the user, they do, for example, allow us to detect if the same user returns at different times. They also make it possible to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. These cookies can be deactivated without any loss of functionality.
Third-party cookies. In the course of browsing a site, the user may also receive on his/her terminal equipment cookies that are sent by different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site he/she is visiting may reside.
Profiling cookies. These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) your preferences and improve your browsing experience. This site uses technical and performance and analysis cookies. It does not use third-party and profiling cookies.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

The www.abitarte.eu website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (‘Google’ in the following). Again, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’ to anonymously collect and analyse information on the usage behaviour of the www.abitarte.eu website (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes this information for the purpose of compiling reports for www.abitarte.eu regarding activity on the site. This website does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google’s analytics tool to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google nor does it attempt to link an IP address with a user’s identity. Google may also disclose this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. For further information, please refer to the link below:https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/ ??You may selectively disable the Google Analytics action by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on your browser. To disable the action of Google Analytics, please refer to the link below:https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

COOKIE DURATION

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or any logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” when the browser is closed and are available on subsequent visits by the user. These cookies are called ‘persistent’ and their duration is fixed by the server when they are created. In some cases an expiry date is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited.?This site does not use persistent cookies.

COOKIE MANAGEMENT

Users can decide whether or not to accept cookies by using the settings on their browser. Attention: the total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of the site functionalities reserved to registered users. Conversely, the usability of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies. Disabling “third-party” cookies does not affect navigability in any way. The setting can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Furthermore, the best browsers allow different settings for ‘proprietary’ and ‘third-party’ cookies. As an example, in Firefox, through the menu Tools->Options->Privacy, it is possible to access a control panel where it is possible to define whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and to proceed to their removal.
